The Art of Learning.

October 29th, 2012
In every discipline, the ability to be clearheaded, present, cool under fire is much of what separates the best from the mediocre…if one player is serenely present while the other is being ripped apart by internal pressures, the outcome is already clear…We cannot expect to touch excellence if ‘going through the motions’ is the norm of our lives. On the other hand, if deep, fluid presence becomes second nature, then life, art and learning take on a richness that will continually suprise and delight. The secret is that everything is always on the line. The more present we are at practice, the more present we will be in competition, in the board room, at the exam, the operating table, the big stage. – The art of learning

Above it all

September 4th, 2012
While I was away on my travels to the Cradle of the Mayan people that is Guatemala for some downtime from training and teaching and explore and indulge in a new culture that I end up climbing the highest peak in Central America- Tajamulco in Guatemala, it sits at 4222m. After 3 1/2 hours on chicken buses, 4 hours to camp and further 1 hour to peak. High altitude training. :) When youre above everything. it makes you look at life in a different perspective.

7th Dan Ran Steinberg from Dennis Survival Jiu Jitsu Seminar

September 4th, 2012

Had a really up-paced and informative Seminar with 7th Dan Ran Steinberg from Dennis Survival Jiu Jitsu, Israel. The group went over upto date and combat tested techniques to deal with potential threats. Re-confirmed a lot of skills that I have been training and teaching and everyone walked away learning that little bit extra that they can add to their arsenal. Thank you Ran and look forward to catching up soon. Oss
