Modern day Weapon Defence

Understand what to do against a Sharp or Blunt object threat or assault once committed.

Number one weapon of choice in the U.K.

This hands-on course is designed for participants to understand what they can do against a weapon threat or assault once committed.

According to official police statistics, knife crime in the last decade has seen an increase across the UK. Sharp objects are predominantly used in robberies, muggings and assaults, whether to cause fear, serious harm or even death.

The course includes:

  • Understanding situational awareness

  • Learn to break the fear and freeze barrier

  • Flight mode - evacuation strategies

  • 3 foot to 21 foot rule  - working with timing and distance that is provided at hand at any given moment against a potential threat or attack

  • Compliance- depending on the reason and level of threat, verbal de-escalation drills

  • Use of improvised weapons - to acquire an everyday object as an equaliser to block, redirect, distract or disarm the threat

  • Empty hand against vs sharp or blunt objects - Distance control management, engagement tactics, controlling and neutralising the threat in various known scenarios

  • Basic first aid - dealing with any injuries and post trauma prior to arrival of emergency services.

(Note: If you are a complete beginner in the Martial Arts/Self defence world, I would highly recommend competing the 3-day Personal Safety and Situational Awareness course before signing up for the Weapon defence course. In order to get a strong base of techniques and understanding.
