This 8 hour course is specifically designed to empower Women and to teach women threat reduction measures that they can apply to detect potential threats. The threat against a woman, is a different threat than it is against a man. Every motive is different and It is important to be able to cover and secure all areas of why, how, when and where a potential threat/attack can happen.

Not only will you learn to see the signals of a potential nuisance/threat before it is committed but you will also learn to overcome physical attacks against you. This course will give you tools that can be useful if unsuspected circumstances while travelling to and from work or abroad.

Nick and his colleagues will teach you tactics to deal with a stalker, if someone is following you, verbally assaulting you, as well as defending yourself from a physical or sexual assault.

The aim of this course is to empower and build confident women to be able to go about their daily lives and travel freely while understanding the possible dangers and what to do in a stressful situation in various environments.

Course covers:

  • Situational awareness - Understanding your environment and know where you are going

  • Evacuate/escape/cover - How to exit safely from a high level to low level threat

  • Steps to take if you are being followed - Take immediate steps to create distance and prevent physical harm

  • Strong posture & verbal de-escalation - Communication skills and body language against a potential threat

  • Distance control management - Creating maintaining space between you and the threat

  • Improvised weapons for defence - Using your environment to your advantage

  • Defence and release from physical grabs

  • Defence against physical strikes

  • Easy to learn takedowns for the street - Learn how to take someone off balance

  • Self defence on the ground - Understand advantages and disadvantages when defending yourself on the ground, learn to improve your position, neutralize the threat and recover back to your feet safely.

Requirements

  • Women (18 years and over)

  • No previous experiences required

  • No fitness level required

  • Minimum 60 minutes
