Our Adult Personal Safety & Self-Defence training is designed for real life, blending proven martial arts techniques and professional close protection strategies used by security specialists worldwide.

Whether you are a professional commuting late, someone who travels frequently, or simply looking to boost your confidence, our courses will fit your lifestyle and risk profile.

Taught by a multi-black belt Martial Artist, Close protection training specialist, and trusted trainer to celebrities, executives, and dignitaries. The course is delivered with complete focus on safety, efficiency, and results.

This is more than just self-defence, it’s a peace of mind, skill for life, and the confidence to walk anywhere knowing you can handle yourself.

Navigate through life with confidence and know when and how to evade a potential disturbance or threat before it escalates further and learn how to deescalate and control a situation when there is no other option but to defend yourself or your loved ones.

Course format: Small group (6 -14 people) - 7 hours of practical learning in total.

Private group bookings: Avaialble outside scheduled dates. Bring friends, family or colleagues and book a private course at a time that suits you. Corporate bookings welcome.

MODULE 1: Defence Against Strikes - 2 hours

Learn to handle threats at distance. Focus on awareness , intent reading, distance management and defences against punches, kicks and common street strikes.

Module 1 covers:

  • Travel security & situational security

  • Threat recognition & follow avoidance

  • UK self-defence law overview

  • Distance & control, verbal compliance

  • Counters, escapes & multiple attacker concepts

  • Situational Awareness & Threat Recognition - Read environments, spot pre-incident indicators, and avoid danger before it escalates.

  • Deescalation & Verbal Control - Practical verbal and body language tools to manage conflict safety.

  • Effective Unarmed Defence - Simple, repeatable techniques for real attacks. Designed for real people, not athletes only.

  • Escape and Evasion - Regain mobility and remove yourself from harm quickly.

  • Ground Survival - Essential techniques to survive and escape if a confrontation goes to the ground.

  • Everyday Safety Skills - Travel safety, follow avoidance strategies, and how to use improvised defences.

What you’ll develop

MODULE 2: Defence Against Grabs & Holds - 2.5 hours

Close-range survival: breaking grips, escaping headlocks and chokes, and simple control techniques informed by close-protection training.

Module 2 covers:

  • Wrist/arm/clothing/hair grab breaks

  • Choke, headlock & bear hug escapes

  • Frames & structure to create space

  • Simple, safe take-downs & neutralisation methods

MODULE 3: Defence on the ground - 2.5 hours

If a confrontation goes to the ground you need survival skills. Learn techniques from BJJ, MMA and close-protection methods to regain footing and safety.

  • Escapes from common pins and holds

  • Defending against strikes on the ground

  • Stand-up recovery under pressure

  • Practical ground survival concepts

Note: Completion of the foundational modules is recommended before progressing to advanced weapon defence courses. Strong movement, control and escape skills reduce risk and increase options when faced with an armed attacker.

This is a progressive self-defence course designed to be learned over multiple sessions. Each module builds a foundation in movement, distance and control. Skills that are essential before moving on to advanced responses such as our Modern Weapon Defence course.

You can follow the full progressive pathway, or pick individual modules if you already have experience in some of the modules. If you have never trained before, we strongly recommend starting at Module 1 and working in sequence.

  • Private course with friends/family/colleagues: Book the same modules for a private session or run the full progressive course at an agreed time and location

  • Corporate workshops: Tailored content for staff. Focus choices can include deescalation for front-line staff, situational awareness for lone workers, or practical personal safety for travelling employees.

  • Bespoke programs: If you require a modified programme for age groups, accessibility needs, or role-specific training, we’ll design ti to suit your requirements.

  • Yes. Experienced participants may choose individual modules. if you’re new to self-defence. start at Module 1.

  • This course is for ages 16 and above. For younger participants refer to our youth Personal Safety for Emerging Independence course for ages 12-15.

    For younger participants we can run separate junior courses on request.
